Hello

Hi, I’m Kathryn…

Life—this being human and riding the rough seas of life that inevitable come, means that everyone is in need of assistance in righting their life-ship during life’s storms. For those turbulent times, when the waters are choppy, a skilled and empathic therapist can serve as a rudder in guiding you to your life raft, and eventually to the safety of the shore. We are all in need a compass when in gale winds.

I am honored to work with you during your time of deep pain and confusion. In a safe and non-judgmental environment, I work with clients like you who are in distress and in need of a skilled and empathic therapist. Once you begin to engage in therapy—and consequently decrease your critical self-talk—new neural pathways are forged in your brain. Old thinking patterns begin to be replaced by the new and positive re-patterning that results in forward momentum towards health and wholeness—and your best self. Your brain will literally look different on an FMRI as a result of these changes!

My Story

My academic undertakings include an undergraduate experience as an English literature major at Rutgers University and UC Berkeley, where I was fortunate to have indulged in many of the best writers of all times. I also hold graduate degrees in business and behavioral health—the latter for which I am passionate. My work as a therapist includes a decade working in the Emergency and Trauma departments of four of the valley’s largest hospitals with patients struggling with various mental health concerns. My work as a therapist also includes providing therapy in an intensive outpatient program at a behavioral health hospital facilitating general mental health and DBT groups. I love my work as a therapist.

I originally hail from the northeast U.S., but have also lived in California prior to my many years here in Arizona. Prior to college, I took a year off and travelled around Europe and the middle-east, and later parts of Africa. I have studied with a variety of teachers and spiritual guides, including some mainstream and some very non-traditionalists. I consider myself a life-long learner, and enjoy good music, books, travel, and engaging in rich conversations with friends and family. I also take pleasure in beating my long-time Scrabble partner because we are so evenly paired.
